I run various yoga and meditation programs for private groups & individuals. Clients include disability support organisations, work place health & wellbeing initiatives and school groups. Contact me so that I can tailor a program that is a perfect fit for your group.

I am trialling a new class, the “Forever Young” Over 60s group. This is being held at Oak Mountain Health Care 77 Anzac Avenue on Wednesday’s at 9am. There are places still available, so contact me for more information.

Yoga Shala

Features of the shala:

My purpose designed yoga shala is in the back yard of my large residential block and is private and separate to my house. It has an adjoining rest room and is made just for yoga. It is a well loved haven for all and you will love the atmosphere here. You are welcome to meet with me and take a tour before attending a class.

  • Yoga flooring that has a 13mm thickness to ensure your body is well looked after. This floor will change the way you manage your yoga practice.
  • Yoga mats/blocks/straps, bolsters, therabands all supplied
  • Beautifully warm with a Fire in winter & cool in summer

Class Description

Yoga Flow (Back to Basics)

A general Yoga class that is designed to be a perfect fit for everyone. The class is multi layered so there are opportunities for those wishing to challenge themselves in their practice to do so and also plenty of variations for those who prefer the less is more road.

We will sometimes workshop ideas as being given poses to do is one thing, understanding why we do them and how they are beneficial for us adds a whole new layer and opportunity to develop greater body awareness.

Tuesday evening
Slow Stretch & Release Yoga

A more gentle variation of yoga with bolsters and props to assist in keeping the class as relaxing & restorative as we like.

Elements of yin yoga are also utilised, promoting healthy stimulation to the connective tissue and in particular encourages structural shifts to the fascial matrix, less muscular effort and more surrendering into the stretch and the hold time.

The restorative element is a direct line to nourishing the nervous system towards a more balanced and equilibrated state. If you are looking for a yoga class to restore and renew then this one is for you.

Express Yoga Flow

A well organised hour of vinyasa yoga flow and movement patterns tailored to develop core strength, stability and flexibility.

Improve range of motion and movement patterns in practical ways to support and improve function in every day life, sport and work scenarios.

Leave feeling that you have had a really good work out and relaxed at the same time.

Saturday morning
Power Flow Yoga

A balanced combination of a strong core work and flowing movements designed to improve strength, stability and flexibility with background music played.

This is a class to set your weekend off right, its always fun, relaxed and usually upbeat in its nature. This class is suitable for those with some previous yoga experience or with a reasonable degree of fitness as it can be an advanced yoga class.

Private Yoga Classes

There are many reasons why you may prefer to book a private class. A personal session is just that, very personal and as yoga is rarely a one size fits all setting we can approach our time in a unique way where I design a class plan just for you.

Perhaps you have goals you are wanting to achieve in your practice and want the time to take your yoga to a new level or it may be that you have an injury or physical restrictions and would like the space and freedom to explore and develop your yoga practice, whatever the reason these classes are for you.

Beginners Yoga Course

A class for women and men who are new to yoga.

A beginners environment ensures all participants can feel relaxed and enjoy the benefits of yoga whilst developing their practice in a tailored class alongside others who have had no previous experience or knowledge of yoga.

The course covers the foundations of asana practice, including yin, vinyasa & restorative yoga as well as pranayama (breath) & meditation. We delve into the philosophy & origins of this ancient and beautiful practice as well as drawing from current science based research so that you can further understand the influencers on the way your body moves.

This six week block will be held at Melissa’s private shala in Seymour (shala is a sanskrit word for a gathering space for students of yoga “a place of yoga.”
