The river rising recently and beginning its creep towards the Billabongs, yes we have had lovely rain…though the river has now subsided and a peaceful calm prevails from the etheral pools of water pictured at this billabong. A step away it is another story,
The lagoon pictured below is fed into from a back water to the river, a mystical place pictured here. This back water is where the ancient Goulburn River once flowed until sometime in the early 1900’s when the river flooded and changed the course of the Goulburn in many areas around Seymour. When the real rain arrives the quick to rise Stoney Creek now feeds its ancient beds and neighbouring lagoons such like this.
